History of Oris began more than one hundred years ago in 1904. Very soon the enterprise got very good reputation as a manufacturer of the highest quality mechanical watches.

In 1970-s, in the very beginning of quartz epoch Oris continues working at creation of new mechanical watches. 1970’s were marked by a great number of novelties, and one of the most outstanding of these was development of the first mechanical chronograph in collaboration with Dubois Depaz that is known in the entire world for its best quality movements.
In 1980s Oris went on creating of high quality mechanical wristwatches.
In 1988 Oris developed a limited edition of mechanical watches with alarm -clock.
1991 was marked by presentation of the excellent Complication model. This nice watch is complicated and multifunctional, however, it is reasonably priced. There are so cute functions as day of week, date and moon phase.
In 1997 the brand presented its new Worldtimer wristwatch model with 2 time zones. The watch had been made up for three years. Though being a complicated watch of the greatest quality, the timepiece was sold for quite a small price – about 2000 Swiss francs – the wristwatch had no rivals in its price category.
1999 was marked by release of the Feull Steel Pointer Day watch that has an additional hand for day of week. Together with this, the timepiece had an additional seconds dial.
In 2000 the Oris XXL collection became one of the world’s greatest collection. Now this collection consists of 4 models that come in three different sizes and with 3 different movement.
In 2003 the brand offered the TT1 wristwatch – a really great timekeeper for divers that is waterproof to 1000 m.
One of the cutest Oris novelties of this year is the Great Barrier Reef Diver model. This stainless steel watch has a case that measures 47 mm in diameter. Water resistance of the watch does impress – the watch is waterproof to 1000 m. The timepiece possesses helium valve as well as anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The watch has automatic ETA 2895 movement that has power reserve of 42 hours. The company donates fifty Swiss franc from each watch sold to the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
