Different ways of using a headscarf
Those large silk patterned or flowered head scarves that women used to use quite a lot, tied round their head or draped around their neck, quite some years back, no longer seem to be a useful part of any wardrobe, but if you still have one or two hidden away at the back of one of your drawers you may be able to give new use to them.
The first way is to use it as a belt to thread through the waist loops of either a belt or a pair of jeans. Lay the scarf flat on a table and get hold of one corner and begin to fold over and over again until you reach the opposite corner, thread it through the loops of your jeans and tie it at a knot on your side. It will be a change from the normal belt that you are used to wearing and if you are lucky to have kept one of those beautiful Hermes scarves it will also look very chic.
The other idea is mainly for the summer where you can convert your scarf into a top to be worn with say a white skirt or a white pair of jeans. You simply get hold of two corners of the scarf and tie them around your neck and the other two remaining corners you tie around your waist at the back and just in doing that you will have made a very pretty halter top. If you like you can use a brooch to clip down the extra folds that you are left with around your chest area.
And of course the last method is the ever classical way of bringing a bit of colour and life to a dull jacket or blouse which is to just drape it around your neck.
